"Boomer" is the name of our modified 1979 Volkswagon aircooled transporter bus. We found her on Craigslist and even though she was in Portland (and we were in Santa Monica) Lane convinced Ryan that she was 'the one'. Boomer had been sitting broken down for 3 years so she needed a lot of work to get cleaned up and going again. The awesome folks at Halsey Automotive in Portland, Oregon rebuilt her engine and we flew up to get her. Now she is where we call home and holds the the burden of carrying around our crazy little family.
BEFORE AND AFTER : we spent a couple of months in Kansas saving up and working to renovate Boomer for the road.
Boomer's bumpers were a little rusty...thanks Mom for all the elbow grease that helped to shine her up
we replaced the old stickers with one of our own...
our old living room...
the old sink looked like it hadn't seen water in years
the old linoleum flooring had seen better days
the old curtains were basically made of dust
