Back in the heart of Texas…
Our favorite part of San Antonio was definitely “The River Walk”…the lights, live music and Mexican food made it feel unlike any other place we’ve been.

We explored the rest of the city despite the three days of rainfall, which made us the only two walking through the Mexican markets and outdoor eateries in the rain.
When we realized we didn’t exactly ‘remember the Alamo’ we decided to rent Hollywood’s version of the story to watch the night before we went to see the real thing. I’m sure it’s not the approach Mr. Johnson (my old history teacher) would approve of, but it helped spark our interest in the iron gates and dilapidated stone walls we visited the next day. I think we both sang the Davey Crockett theme song for the next 100 miles.
